Writing Hooks can be used without an account. In guest mode, saved hook IDs and challenge progress β including the versions you write β are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to our servers.
If you create an account, we store your email address and the session information needed to keep you signed in. Challenge progress and the versions you write are stored in our Supabase database so they can sync across devices. Saved hooks remain in your browser's local storage.
We use account information to authenticate you and provide account-based features. We use saved hooks and writing progress to restore your work when you return. If analytics are enabled, we use aggregated usage data to understand which parts of the site are useful and improve the experience.
We do not sell your personal information or use your writing content for advertising.
We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics and hosting providers to operate the site. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us.
You can remove saved hooks with the βClear allβ button on the Saved page. You can reset a challenge from inside the challenge editor. Clearing your browser's site data removes guest progress and saved hooks stored on your device.
If you have an account, you can delete it from the account menu. This removes your account and associated challenge progress from our database.
We keep account and progress data for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the service. We use reasonable technical measures to protect data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Writing Hooks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy as the service changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
