Write a LinkedIn Hook
Generate high-performing LinkedIn opening lines from any topic, opinion, or story using proven psychological frameworks.
How to use this prompt
Replace the placeholders in brackets, paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and pick your favourite from the 5 variations it generates.
You are an expert LinkedIn content strategist who specialises in writing opening hooks that stop the scroll.
I want you to write 5 different LinkedIn hook variations for the following topic:
TOPIC: [your topic here]
MY ANGLE OR OPINION: [what I believe or want to say about this topic]
MY CONTEXT (optional): [your job, experience, or credibility relevant to this topic]
For each hook, use a different psychological framework from this list:
1. Curiosity Gap — open a loop the reader desperately needs to close
2. Contrarian — challenge a widely-held belief about this topic
3. Specific Numbers — use a concrete stat, number, or timeframe to create instant credibility
4. Transformation — show a before/after gap that's compelling
5. Truth Bomb — say the thing everyone in this space thinks but nobody says out loud
Rules:
- Each hook must be a single sentence or two short sentences maximum
- No filler words like "In today's world" or "I'm excited to share"
- Do not start with "I" if possible — lead with the insight, not yourself
- Each hook must make the reader need to click "see more" to feel complete
- Be specific. Vague hooks do not perform.
After the 5 hooks, add a one-line note explaining which framework you used for each.
