Hook Framework
Directly asks the reader to engage, click, respond, or take a specific next step without ambiguity or friction.
Why it works
Call-to-action hooks are the most direct form of engagement hook. Instead of teasing information or building curiosity, they tell the reader exactly what to do next. This works because of action bias â when given a clear, low-friction instruction, people are more likely to follow it than to invent their own next step. A well-crafted CTA hook removes all ambiguity and makes the desired action feel like the natural thing to do.
When to use
Use CTA hooks when your primary goal is engagement â comments, shares, clicks, or sign-ups. They're essential for community management posts, engagement bait, email newsletters, and any content where the success metric is a specific user action.
