By showing where someone started and where they ended up, you create a tension that every reader wants to resolve — what happened in between? This works because it leverages social proof (the transformation is real and happened to someone) and hope (if they can do it, maybe I can too). The most powerful transformation hooks reveal a painful 'before' that feels familiar and an aspirational 'after' that feels attainable.
